Ardmore

Ardmore Visitors Bureau: Developers are planning a $40 million, 150-room hotel with a spa and resort-quality facilities at Oklahoma’s Lake Murray State Park. Plans call for renovations of existing cabins and the lodge along the lake, as well as the addition of a hotel. The project could be completed as early as 2010 or 2011.

Ardmore Convention Center: New convention facility with 45,700 square feet of event space. The largest room can accommodate 1,800 for a formal banquet.

Edmond

Edmond CVB: Earlier this year, city officials announced plans to build a multipurpose convention center in Edmond, which is located on the outskirts of Oklahoma City. The proposed convention center would offer 40,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and a convention-quality hotel with approximately 230 rooms.

Norman

Embassy Suites Norman Hotel & Convention Center: A topping-out ceremony is planned for November for the 283-suite Embassy Suites that is slated to open in fall 2008. The hotel will offer 45,000 square feet of meeting space and will be located in University North Park.

Oklahoma City

Biltmore Hotel - Oklahoma City: Began a renovation that was slated for completion by the end of the year. The project would upgrade amenities and soft goods in the 509 guest rooms and 20,000 square feet of meeting space.

Colcord Hotel: Celebrated its grand opening last year following a $16.5 million renovation of the 1910 building, which offers 108 guest rooms and 1,400 square feet of meeting space.

The Skirvin Hilton Hotel: Celebrated a grand opening in February. Originally opened in 1911, the historic landmark closed in 1988 but was restored and now offers 225 guest rooms and 25,000 square feet of meeting space.

Tulsa

Tulsa CVB: An August news report announced plans to reopen downtown Tulsa’s historic Mayo Hotel after completing a $35 million enhancement project that would turn the building into a hotel and apartment complex.

Bank of Oklahoma Center: Plans call for the mixed-used development to include a 246-room Westin hotel with 72 condominiums in the upper seven stories, along with meeting space, a ballroom, an 8,500-square-foot courtyard garden and 40,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. The center is expected to open in 2008 and include an 18,000-seat arena.

Cherokee Casino & Resort: A renovation of the Cherokee Casino Inn was completed last year, and future plans call for a $125 million expansion and construction project encompassing 337,000 square feet and adding 30,000 square feet of convention space to accommodate groups of up to 1,000.

Doubletree Hotel at Warren Place: Completed a multimillion-dollar renovation that began in 2006 at a cost of $12 million. Included in the project was the Warren Duck Club, a landmark restaurant in the city.

Tulsa Convention Center: An expansion is under way at the center that will allow more space for exhibitors to be accommodated in the exhibit hall. In addition, the existing arena is being renovated into a 36,000-square-foot ballroom, and another 20,000 square feet of meeting space is being added for a total of 35 breakout rooms.
