Chattanooga

Chattanooga Area CVB: A new $14 million Doubletree is set to open downtown next March with 187 guest rooms and 7,000 square feet of meeting space to accommodate up to 450, theater style.

The Chattanoogan: Earlier this year, the 199-room hotel completed renovations of its lobby and guest rooms.

Johnson City

Johnson City CVB: CVB officials announced earlier this year that the mall at Johnson City has expanded and a new shopping center has been built. Also, now open is The Fun Expedition, a new indoor/outdoor family recreation center.

Holiday Inn Johnson City: The hotel has 203 guest rooms and includes an executive level with new furniture and upgraded amenities. The seven meeting rooms of the hotel can accommodate up to 400 people. Recent renovations have been completed with more on the way, according to hotel officials who announced earlier this year that the hotel updated the lobby with all new furniture in July 2006 and its executive level in October 2006. Guest room renovations are planned for completion in 2008.

The Millennium Centre: Located directly across from Eastern Tennessee State University, the center added a 21,000-square-foot outdoor courtyard to its 23,000 square feet of indoor space this spring.

Kingsport

Marriott MeadowView Conference Resort & Convention Center: Offers 195 rooms, 21 meeting rooms, and a total of 65,000 square feet of meeting space, including the 35,000-square-foot convention center, which received new carpet earlier this year. A 1,900-square-foot amphitheater is also on site.

Knoxville

Hilton Knoxville: Recently completed a total renovation, including the meeting space. The property is located one block from the convention center.

Knoxville Marriott Hotel: Underwent a refurbishment in 2006. The hotel is connected to the Knoxville Civic Coliseum and Auditorium.

Memphis

Hyatt Regency Memphis Hotel & Spa: Part of the Number One Beale multi-use project, the hotel will feature 240 rooms, two restaurants, a coffee shop, a spa, a fitness and workout facility, a 10th-floor swimming pool and sundeck, and more than 22,500 square feet of meeting space, including a 7,500-square-foot ballroom. Hotel is slated to open in early 2010.

Westin Beale Street Hotel: Opened March 2007, the hotel was planned as an “oasis” for NBA teams playing at the nearby FedEx Forum. Special athlete amenities include a special floor with taller ceilings and doors and shower heads mounted to accommodate NBA players.

Murfreesboro

Embassy Suites Hotel Murfreesboro & Conference Center: The 283-room suite hotel and adjoining 80,000-square-foot conference center broke ground in 2007 and is set to open in spring 2008.

Nashville

Embassy Suites Hotel Nashville Airport: In late 2006, the 296-room hotel completed a $7.2 million renovation to its 14,000 square feet of meeting space.

Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center Nashville: Announced plans earlier in the year to add more than 400,000 square feet of convention space to the existing 600,000 square feet of space. Plans also call for the construction of a new 400-suite luxury hotel, with both projects slated for completion by 2010.

Pigeon Forge

RiverStone Resort: A new $100 million mountain resort in the Smoky Mountains opened earlier this year with 3,600 square feet of meeting space that can accommodate up to 300 people. Currently, the property features 126 condo units, and three additional buildings are planned for construction in 2007, which would bring the total condo units to nearly 300.

Sevierville

Sevierville Events Center at Bridgemont: Opened in September with a 108,000-square-foot exhibit hall, a 19,290-square-foot ballroom and additional meeting space, the Events Center was built with large spaces and high ceilings to accommodate large trade shows and competitive events, according to CVB officials. The center will also feature a 284-room hotel adjoined by an interior corridor and two 18-hole golf courses.
