ConventionSouth Magazine Earns Gold Award
Publication Takes Honor For 'Best Single Issue' At The 19th Annual MAGS Conference
ATLANTA—
ConventionSouth magazine received a Gold "GAMMA" Award from the Magazine Association of the Southeast (MAGS) on May 7, 2008.
Competing against other business-to-business magazines that are published in the Southeast,
ConventionSouth was awarded the highest-level GAMMA in the category of "Best Single Issue for 2007." The November 2007 issue of
ConventionSouth was awarded the honor and featured a cover story titled "Divots With Dividends: Why Golf Continues To Champion Winning Events." The issue was recognized for exemplifying the best content, writing and design in a manner that is well targeted to the readers and the magazine's mission, according to Don Sadler, MAGS 2008 president and senior editor with McMurry, an Atlanta-based marketing communications firm.
The award was presented to
ConventionSouth Publisher Talty O'Connor, Editor Kristen McIntosh, Managing Editor Marlane Bundock, Assistant Editor Michelle Martin and Graphic Designer Beth Bagley during the 19th Annual MAGS Conference held at The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead in Atlanta. MAGS is a professional organization whose members represent individuals, corporations and associates involved in the publishing industry in the Southeast. Judging for the MAGS GAMMA Awards is conducted by an elite group of magazine editors and designers from across the country and awarded to member publications in 14 categories.
