Galveston

By D. Fran Morley

Galveston is well on the way to be a world-class destination with the May 2012 opening of the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, a brand-new family attraction/dining/shopping destination built on the site of the city’s historic pier. The new pier is a project of Landry’s, the national restaurant, hospitality and entertainment company.

“The City of Galveston’s commitment to enhancing our Seawall experience has now been improved upon by one of Galveston’s own,” stated Mayor Joe Jaworski. “Galveston is proud to witness Landry’s historic investment in recreating the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier. Galveston is back and better than ever, and the Seawall is leading the way.”
