In today’s meetings market, Memphis aims to be competitive when it comes to drawing visitors and groups who want to get the most out of their budget, said Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau Vice President of Marketing Regena Bearden, who noted that Memphis is a mid-sized destination with big-city appeal and easy to access. Plus, Memphis has many top choices for meetings with more options on the way. New construction was recently completed on the 131-room Courtyard Marriott Downtown Memphis, bringing a brand-new option to the downtown area and convention district. And the property is ideal for business meetings. It offers free Internet access throughout; GoBoard access to news, weather and airport conditions; a bistro that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; 5,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 2,000-square-foot ballroom with windows overlooking a park, a media room; and two executive boardrooms.
