Roanoke Valley

Visitors on Mill Mountain, standing beneath the 200-foot tall star that has shown over Roanoke, Virginia since 1949, get a view of city that is growing and changing and ready for business. Roanoke Valley is  within a day’s drive of much of the East Coast, and there is much for business or leisure travelers to do here.

Roanoke City Market, the state’s oldest continually operating open-air farmer’s market that dates back to 1882 anchors a downtown that has 40 restaurants, museums, shops, and is home to more than 1,000 people.

In the City of Roanoke, the largest meeting and event facilities are the 110,000-square-foot Roanoke Civic Center and 46,000-square-foot Special Events Center, located just north of downtown and less than 10 minutes from the airport.
