Recession? What recession? That’s the kind of comment one might hear in and around Tulsa, Okla. “The Sooner” state’s second-most populous city, which is located in the northeast quadrant of the state with both the Arkansas River and historic Route 66 running through it, has maintained a remarkably sunny financial climate in recent years.

Tulsa has transformed its downtown landscape in recent years with nearly $1 billion in public and private monies invested in everything from a new world-class arena and a baseball stadium (the Art Deco-styled ONEOK Field) to renovated hotels, restored attractions and additional restaurants and nightlife options.
