To assist meeting planners with locating green meeting facilities in the South, the editors of ConventionSouth developed this annual certification program to recognize cities, hotels and meeting facilities that provide eco-friendly and energy-wise options for meetings and events. The following meeting sites have passed the review process and received this certification based on the results of an in-depth questionnaire. Each of the following meeting sites has been deemed to offer a true dedication to conservation and protecting the environment through various eco-friendly services and the ability to assist meeting planners with their green meetings.
Meeting sites selected to receive this certification are given a Green Meetings Approved by ConventionSouth seal that distinguishes them as a green meetings provider. Meeting planners can feel confident that Green Meetings Approved by ConventionSouth cities, hotels and facilities conserve energy and fuel, reduce product use, reuse products, recycle products and use local products when available. And, Green Meetings Approved by ConventionSouth cities, hotels and facilities can assist groups to reduce their carbon footprint on the destination while in town for the meeting.
